We're excited to announce the Procom Racing PRO-Series Billet Oil Filter Adapter. We designed this product for use in both street and racing applications for all EJ and FA series Subaru engines. This adapter allows for the use of much larger WIX oil filters which increase oil flow and filtration for more reliability and improved engine life.

The Subaru OEM engine oil filter has a bypass setting of 23psi. What this means is that if the pressure differential from the inlet of the oil filter to the outlet of the oil filter is greater than 23psi, the filter is then bypassed. When this happens, oil is circulated through the engine unfiltered which can lead to particulates being circulated through your engine and probable engine damage. This is most prevalent with higher viscosity oil than OE spec or at high RPM when oil pressure and oil flow is increased greatly.

During these conditions, the OEM oil filter is now a restriction for your entire engine oiling system. By increasing the surface area of the filter element, you've now decreased the oil pressure differential at the oil filter and increased the rate at which oil can flow through the filter and the rest of the engine.

INSTALLATION:

Included in this kit is the PRO-Series Billet Oil FIlter Adapter, nickle plated thru-bolt, c-clip, and your choice of the "Street-Use" or "Race-Use" Wix engine oil filter. This kit can be installed in less than 5 minutes during your standard oil change. Simply remove the OEM engine oil filter, tighten the adapter to the engine block / oil cooler, and install the new WIX filter. The adapter comes pre-assembled for ease of installation.

Have an aftermarket oil cooler? No Problem! We offer a fit up kit to work with most aftermarket oil cooler sandwich plates. Simply choose the option at check out.

FOR STREET USE:

For street applications we suggest the use of the WIX 57099XP engine oil filter. This filter is 150% larger (2.5 times the size) than it's OEM counterpart. It's a standard spin-on oil filter featuring a synthetic filter media, anti drain back valve, high flow rate, and no oil by-pass valve. This ensures that engine oil is constantly filtered into your engine at all times. Note for FA applications: Due to the increased filter size, this filter makes slight contact with the insulation on the hood. Does not make contact with hood itself.

FOR RACING USE:

For racing applications we suggest the use of the WIX 51069R engine oil filter. This filter is 225% larger (3.25 times the size) than it's OEM counterpart. It's a standard spin-on oil filter featuring an enhanced cellulose filter media, anti drain back valve, higher flow rate than the street filter, and no oil by-pass valve. This ensures that engine oil is constantly filtered into your engine at all times. This filter is designed for RACE USE ONLY. We mean actual racing. This oil filter has a flow rate of 28GPM and 61 micron filter rating. It must be changed more often than the street filter and for these reasons, we don't suggest them for every day street use. Note: This filter is NOT compatible with FA engines. FA engines must use the Street-Use filter only.

CONCLUSION:

Oil is the lifeblood of any engine. It's used to lubricate and cool vital engine components. Both EJ and FA series Subaru engines suffer from various oil starvation issues in one form or another so anything that can be done to increase engine oil flow is a vital engine modification for obvious reasons. If you're going to be modifying your Subaru engine and using your Subaru for it's intended purpose, this modification should be on the top of your list.
